10 Quotes That Inspire Me Everyday as an Entrepreneur

As a freelance entrepreneur, I need to be surrounded by positive people and role models.

However, as I don’t have lots of entrepreneurs in my direct entourage, my role models are successful entrepreneurs who came from rags to riches. Oprah Winfrey, J.D. Rockefeller, Thomas Edison, or Dale Carnegie to name a few. I’ve even read their biographies to get boosted and uplifted as an entrepreneur.

Every time I feel discouraged, or that I need a boost, I go back to inspirational quotes from famous people who have succeeded in their respective trades. Here are my top 10 inspirational quotes. Enjoy!

As a copywriter, I have to be inspired to transcribe the wishes of my clients and create persuasive and compelling copy for them. Though I’ve had nice testimonials for my work, I’ve never stopped working and training. The best thing I’ve done for my business is the following: write every day – even if I just wrote 50 words.

Hard work, dedication, determination, and giving my best to my projects are the key factors that will get me to success in all my endeavors.

I just love Mark Twain, he is one of my favorite writers. The piece of advice he gives is true and can be applied to any circumstance. When I started my business, few people encouraged me.

On the contrary, I had remarks on the fact that I should go back on a job because I used to earn a good living for myself. I cut myself from these people. My vision isn’t to be a corporate slave. On the contrary, I want to be free and live from my skills and talents, not from applying rules to protect a bank (I used to be a compliance officer in corporate and investment banks).

I never forget to learn something everyday, I’ve always been a proponent of self-learning, even when I was still an employee. Whether I want to learn new ways of writing or new skills related to my work, I’m always in.

Yes, sometimes I make mistakes. And even if I’m abhorring it because I’m the ultimate perfectionist, I actually evolve. Recognizing my mistakes on my copy helps me to grow in my skills and my business. I’ve created several websites which have crashed and burnt. Also, I’ve chosen the wrong copywriting niches.

I’ve even spotted a sentence that I didn’t like in recent work -whereas my client just told me that she loved my job! Anyway, making mistakes is not the end of the world. I learn and I carry on.

Yes, I remember that I started my business because I want to do what I love, i.e. writing, promoting, educating, and helping people to market their products. I’m very happy to build my business day after day, even if it’s hard to get clients at the beginning.

Having a long-term strategy, I just need to apply my strategy and everything will be fine. I try to remain optimistic, though I’m a realist too!
